Benefits of the Maglev
The Maglev Train is a train is a transportation based on speed and efficiency. The train could accommodate for up to 12,000 passengers per hour in each direction, thus creating a more efficient method of travel than a jet. A Maglev could reach speeds of up to 300 mph.
The Maglev emits no CO2 in the air because its based on electricity. The electricity is then gathered from power plants to power the train and such. Still the trade-off of emissions to create the electricity is at a lower rate of increase then what the train would benefit.
Also, being that the train is ran with no friction it doesn't create a wear on parts. A one-time build should last, besides the minor maintenance needed.
The biggest factor on whether continuing to create Maglev trains is cost. The cost of building such a train comes from all new materials and would have to be manufactured into customization. The cost of putting a Maglev Train between Tokyo and Osaka would be $100 billion dollars.
